Hey, guess what? The folks over at 718 Cyclery / Mighty Hatchet, your friendly, neighborhood bicycle and adventure shop, have invited me back to share what I know about backpacking as part of their free, 718U class series! I’m stoked to be leading a discussion and demo of what to pack and how to plan for for a multi-day or long-distance backpacking trip. We’ll cover all the logistics of route planning, meal planning, and the best safety and Leave No Trace practices. I’ll also show you how to pack gear into a backpack for maximum comfort and accessibility.
Not sure what to buy for your next adventure? I’ll show you a few different styles of backpacks (and options for all the stuff that goes inside) from internal frame to ultra-light and discuss the differences and considerations between them as well as how to pack them for the long-haul. Bring any questions & concerns you might have as I’ll leave plenty of time for Q&A. Oh and bring your appetite too — I hear there’s gonna be free food and drinks — wahoo! Can’t think of a better way to spend a Tuesday than talkin’ some trail!
