Hike Description: For the first Public Transit Series of 2026, we’ll be walking our way through Westchester County on a stroll atop a portion of the Old Croton Aqueduct, a 41-mile underground waterway which supplied fresh water to NYC’s residents for over 100 years! We’ll start our trip right at the source, on a bridge atop the 200-foot tall Croton Reservoir Dam. History was made right here as the original dam (built in 1842) became the prototype for many municipal dams of the mid-19th century that followed. After leaving the dam, our tree-lined trail will ease us along a (primarily) gentle downward slope, through the Croton Gorge and all the way to the Hudson River town of Ossining.

Time and mood permitting, we can end our walk by warming up with a brew of choice from Here Coffee + Beer before hopping the train back to NYC.

This trip will run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 in order to ensure the health and safety of all guides and participants. If the minimum has not been met 24 hours ahead of trip, we will reach out and refund, reschedule or make alternate arrangements. Liability Waiver must be completed ahead of hike in order to participate. All hikes are rain or shine.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 14 days or more prior to the start of your trip, you will receive a full refund, less a 10% non-refundable administration fee. If you cancel between 24 hours and 14 days ahead, you will receive a 50% refund. Anything less than 24-hours is ineligible for refund, unless trip is canceled by Girl Gotta Hike, due to dangerous conditions or any other reason.
