The Girl Gotta Hike Public Transit Series is a once-monthly guided hike that is easily accessed by subway, train or bus from New York City. Get out of the city and into the woods without needing a car!

Native Land Recognition: Wappinger, Schaghticoke, Munsee Lenape and Mohican

When:  Saturday, May 10th, 7:30 AM (to meet @ Grand Central Station); 9:00 AM (to meet onsite) Transit details provided upon signup.

Distance:  6.5 miles

Rating:  Moderate (Mostly gentle trail surface with some steep and rockier sections)

Estimated Hiking Time:  4-5 hours (including breaks)

Estimated Return to NYC: 4 PM

Hike Description: On this hike we’re heading up to Westchester County’s Blue Mountain Reservation, popular with hikers and mountain bikers alike. We’ll walk amongst the woodsy terrain and aside some cascading streams, passing boulders dropped by glaciers eons ago. We’ll top both high peaks in the park and be rewarded with views across the Hudson River to Bear Mountain once we get there! Then it’s a loop down and a return to town where we can cheers to our success with a beverage or a treat before returning to the big city.

Each trip will run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 in order to ensure the health and safety of all guides and participants. If the minimum has not been met 24 hours ahead of trip, we will reach out and reschedule, refund, or make alternate arrangements. Liability Waiver and COVID-19 Policy must be completed ahead of hike in order to participate.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 14 days or more prior to the start of your trip, you will receive a full refund, less a 10% non-refundable administration fee. If you cancel between 24 hours and 14 days ahead, you will receive a 50% refund. Anything less than 24-hours is ineligible for refund, unless trip is canceled by Girl Gotta Hike, due to dangerous conditions or any other reason.
