Girl Gotta Hike is teaming up with her Catskill neighbors to celebrate our amazing community and support the 1st Official Pine Hill PRIDE Festival! All LGBTQIA+ individuals, allies, families, and friends are welcome to come along and get some exercise in before the real party begins!

Where:  Slide Mountain Wilderness, The Catskills

Native Land Recognition:  Haudenosaunee, Munsee Lenape and Mohican

When:  Friday, July 11th, 2025, 11 AM (to meet at the trailhead); 10:30 AM (to meet in Pine Hill to carpool) Transit details provided upon signup

Distance:  3.2 miles

Rating:  Moderate – suitable for beginners and experienced hikers alike. While it is short on milage, the trail surface consists of uneven rocky terrain, with a couple of sections requiring use of hands.

Estimated Hiking Time:  2.5 - 3 hours (including breaks)

Hike Description:  Come kick off Pine Hill Pride Weekend with a short hike up to one of the sweetest viewpoints in the entire Catskill Park — Giant Ledge! For real, we’re talking quintessential heart of the Catskills hiking here, culminating with some sweeping views from the Devil’s Path to the North, the Burroughs Range to the south, and the whole of the Woodland Valley below, wahoo!

Our legs will warm up quickly as we make our way uphill from the parking area, rising nearly 700 feet in less than a mile. Shortly thereafter, we’ll really start to feel that mountain magic, as the multiple rocky overlooks that make up the Giant Ledge appear under our feet. Once up top, we’ll take time to soak up the scenery, share some snacks, and take some pics, before heading back downhill the same way we came.

Enjoy open views, a supportive community, and the some of the best scenery around — kinda what Pine Hill Pride is all about!

This special trip will run with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 12 in order to ensure the health and safety of all guides and participants. Liability Waiver must be completed ahead of hike in order to participate.

Cancellation Policy: As this is a donation hike, no refunds will be given for cancellations. But we understand things happen, so just let us know if you can’t make it so we’re not waiting for ya at the trailhead. All hikes are rain or shine, though trip may be canceled by Girl Gotta Hike, due to dangerous conditions.
